She amused people with her character in 'Bhool Bhulaiya' as Paresh Rawal's wife. In 'Gayab', she also irked everyone with her performance as Tusshar Kapoor's mother. Rasika Joshi created a wonderful niche in TV world and films with her lively characters and remarkable acting. Unfortunately and shockingly, the noted actress has now left for heavenly abode.
Rasika, aged 39, passed away on Thursday at a suburban nursing home. The actress was reported to have been fighting blood cancer for the last nine years. Her demise has shocked many people in the industry as very few were aware of her serious illness. Her last movie in fact is the forthcoming Ram Gopal Verma's thriller 'Not A Love Story'. Quoted the filmmaker to sources, "She was an extraordinary actress and it's sad that the Hindi cinema wasn't able to tap her full potential. I was shocked to hear about her death as I shot with her just a few days back for Not A Love Story."
Her character as Taru fui in Ekta Kapoor's serial 'Bandini' became a household name while the serial was a hit. "She was a very lively and knowledgeable person. I will miss her immensely," said Ekta, who considered Rasika as one of her most favourite actors.
Rasika is remembered for her roles in SRK's 'Billu', RGV's 'Darna Zaroori Hai', 'Vaastu Shastra' and 'Ek Haseena Thi', 'Johny Gaddar', 'Malamal Weekly' among others.
IndiaGlitz expresses heartfelt condolence to Rasika's family and friends..... Indeed, a fine actor like her will be missed by the screen industry.....
