Biography of Rimi Sen

Rimi Sen (Bengali: রিমি সেন) (b. on September 21, 1981 in Kolkata, India) is an Indian actress working in the Bollywood film industry. Her real name is Shubhomitra Sen. She is also a Odissi dancer and performed in the dance troupe of the eminent Kolkata-based Odissi exponent, Aloka Kanungo.

Sen moved to Mumbai to become a film actress. She was first noticed when she auditioned for a Coca-Cola advertisement, impressing Priyadarshan, the director of the ad. In 2003 Priyadarshan cast her in his hit film Hungama, establishing her in Bollywood. She then played Amitabh Bachchan's and Hema Malini's granddaughter in the hit film Baghban later that year. Her next big hit was the Yashraj produced Dhoom in 2004. After a few box office failures in 2005, 2006 was successful for her when Phir Hera Pheri and Golmaal were both box office hits. Her last release of 2006 was the sequel to Dhoom titled Dhoom 2 which was a blockbuster hit, though she had very little presence in the film. In 2007 she appeared in the critically acclaimed Johnny Gaddaar alongside newcomer actor Neil Nitin Mukesh.

The first step is to evaluate the importance of each planet. This is what we call identifying the dominant planets. This process obeys rules that depend on the astrologer's sensitivity and experience but it also has precise and steady bases: thus, we can take into account the parameters of a planet's activity (the number of active aspects a planet forms, the importance of each aspect according to its nature and its exactness), angularity parameters; (proximity to the four angles, Ascendant, Midheaven, Descendant and Imum Coeli or Nadir, all of them being evaluated numerically, according to the kind of angle and the planet-angle distance) and quality parameters (rulership, exaltation, exile and fall). Finally, other criteria such as the rulership of the Ascendant and the Midheaven etc. are important.
These different criteria allow a planet to be highlighted and lead to useful conclusions when interpreting the chart.
The overall chart analysis begins with the observation of three sorts of planetary distributions in the chart: Eastern or Western hemisphere, Northern or Southern hemisphere, and quadrants (North-eastern, North-western, South-eastern and South-western). These three distributions give a general tone in terms of introversion and extraversion, willpower, sociability, and behavioural predispositions.

Rimi Sen (born Shubhomitra Sen; 21 September 1981) is an Indian actress who appears in Bollywood films.

Biography[edit]

Sen was born as Shubhomitra Sen in Kolkata, West Bengal. She completed her schooling from Bidya Bharati Girls' High School in the year 1998.[citation needed] She completed her graduation in Commerce from University of Calcutta.[1]

Career[edit]

Since childhood Sen nursed the dream of becoming an actress. After completing her studies, she persuaded her mother to accompany her to Mumbai. She later said that she wasn't encouraged by anyone in her family except for her grandfather. After doing the rounds, she got into ads including one Coca-Cola ad with Aapir Khan. She was instantly noticed and her first offer for films started rolling in.[1]
Rimi made her debut as a lead actress in Telugu movie Nee Thodu Kavali. Her debut Hindi film, Vijay Galani's Hungama, released in 2003. It was a comedy film, in which she co-starred with Akshaye Khanna, Aftab Shivdasani, Paresh Rawal, as well as other actors.
She followed it with appearance in big budget movies like Dhoom (2004), Garam Masala (2005) and Golmaal (2006). She also did a cameo in 2006 film Dhoom 2, and followed it with Johnny Gaddaaralongside newcomer actor Neil Nitin Mukesh. In 2008, she appeared in De Taali and in Sankat City and Horn Ok Pleasse in 2009. All the three films here have been box office disasters. After these films, her career has plummeted down considerably.
She further appeared in the films Thank you and Shagird in 2011 and both the films were declared box office failures.
Rimi is currently going by the screen name Rimmi. She explains the name change as a career move: there are many other Sens working in Bollywood right now, and a single name may help her stand out from the crowd and stay apart from others.
