Along with brother Sajid Khan, he has been composing music for films ever since 1998 and regards Salman Khan as his mentor. Wajid Khan is also a mentor on Zee TV’s popular singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.
Biography: Wajid Khan is a renowned music director, singer and lyricist in Bollywood. He started his career as a composer with the 1998 hit film Pyaar Kiya to Darna Kya. Along with brother Sajid, he composed the song ‘Teri Jawani’ for the film. In 1999, he scored the music for Sohail Khan’s film Hello Brother, the songs of which became very popular, especially ‘Hata Sawan Ki Ghata’ and ‘Hello Brother’. Besides this, he also composed the music for Sonu Nigam’s superhit album ‘Deewana’, which remains among the most successful albums even today.
Wajid then scored the music for films like ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’, ‘Tumko Naa Bhool Payenge’, ‘Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam’, ‘Gunaah’, ‘Chori Chori’ and ‘Tere Naam’. In 2004, along with Anu Malik, Wajid and Sajid composed the music for the hit film ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’. They won the IIFA Award and the Zee Cine Award for Best Music as well as a nomination for the Star Screen Award in the same category. This film gave Wajid Khan a much needed recognition and more offers poured in for them.
After a dull 2005 and 2006, things turned for the better for the music composer with David Dhawan’s comedy film ‘Partner’ in 2007. He not only composed for the film but also sung its title track. The album was not only a chartbuster but also won him much appreciation in the form of nominations for the IIFA Award for Best Music Director and Best Male Playback Singer.
‘Welcome’, ‘Kismat Konnection’, ‘Khalballi’, ‘Hello’, ‘God Tussi Great Ho’, ‘Kal Kissne Dekha’, ‘Wanted’, ‘Main Aur Mrs. Khanna’ and ‘Veer’ were some other films for which Wajid Khan not only scored the music but also sang a few songs. However, the real breakthrough came when Dabangg happened in 2010. Wajid- Sajid and Lalit Pandit composed the film’s music, which became one of the most downloaded albums of the year. Wajid- Sajid received the Best Music Director Awards at all major award functions like IIFA, Filmfare, Star Screen, Apsara, Zee Cine and Lion Club.
Barring the few forgettable films for which they scored the soundtrack, a new high came for Sajid- Wajid. Music for ‘Housefull 2’ and ‘Rowdy Rathore’ was well received among audiences. In ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ for which the duo scored the music, Wajid Khan also sang two songs- ‘Mukhtasar’ and ‘Humse Pyaar Kar Le Tu’. The music was the saving grace for the otherwise flop film. He even sang the chartbuster track ‘Mashallah’ in Salman Khan- starrer ‘Ek Tha Tiger’. One of their compositions ‘Yeh Jo Halki Halki Khumariyan’ was included in the film ‘Son of Sardar’.
Continuing the success of Dabangg, Wajid Khan gave music to its sequel Dabangg 2 as well. He has sung ‘Pandeyji Seeti’ and ‘Fevicol Se’ in the same film. Both the songs created the pre-release buzz required for the film and have managed to woo audiences, but not as much as Dabangg did. Wajid- Sajid are the music directors for Preity Zinta’s delayed film ‘Ishkq in Paris’ and the former has also sung two songs in the film.
The talented singer is a preferred choice of Salman Khan when it comes to lending voice for the actor. Upcoming projects of Wajid Khan and his brother include ‘Chashme Buddoor’, ‘Sher Khan’, ‘Himmatwala’, ‘Peter Gaya Kaam Se’, ‘Naam Hai Boss’ and ‘Paradise Street’. The music composer duo has been honored with the lifetime membership of International Film and Television Research Center.

Chashme Baddoor is a Hindi film directed by David Dhawan. Ali Zafar, Siddharth, Taapsee Pannu and Divyendu Sharma are playing lead roles in the movie. It was the remake of old Hindi film. The movie is the story of the three friends Sid (Ali Zafar), Jai (Siddharth Narayan), and Omi (Divyendu Sharma), three friends living in Goa.
Omi and Jai is playboy’s, they spend their most of the time to attract women. Sid is a simple guy who has rules in life. Jai and Omi had been loving one girl (Tapsee), that girl and sid are loving each other. Jai and Omi keep trying to break them. This was the main concept of the story.

Sajid–Wajid is a Hindi music composer duo consisting of brothers Sajid Ali and Wajid Ali, the sons of Ustad Sharafat Khan, a tabla player.
Sajid–Wajid first scored music for Sohail Khan's Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya in 1998. In 1999, they scored music for Sonu Nigam's album Deewaana which included the songs "Deewaana Tera", "Ab Mujhe Raat Din" and "Iss Kadar Pyaar Hai". The same year, they worked as music directors for the film, Hello Brother and wrote the songs "Hata Saawan Ki Ghata", "Chupke Se Koi Aayega" and "Hello Brother".
